Radomir Laban has been appointed a Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo on 9 August 2018.
Prior to his appointment as a Judge, during the period 2011 – 2018, he served as a Senior Legal Adviser at the Constitutional Court of Kosovo. For a short period, Judge Laban also served as Deputy Chief Legal Advisor of the Constitutional Court.
Between 2009 and 2011, Judge Laban used to work pro bono as an external associate for advocacy to protect the rights of socially vulnerable individuals.
During 2004-2006, he served as the Chief Analyst at the Republican Customs Administration. In the period 1999-2004, he worked as the Head of the Anti-Smuggling Team at the Republican Customs Administration.
Judge Laban also worked at the Republican Customs Administration branch in Prishtina between 1994 and 1999, and in various positions at the Customs Office in Xërxe and at the border crossing point – Qafa e Prushit.
He was also one of the founders of the NGO “Association of Serbian Lawyers of Kosovo”, which has carried out a number of significant projects that have enabled a greater participation of Serbian lawyers in all types of legal examinations.
Judge Laban studied law at the Law Faculty in Prishtina during 1992-1997. In 2004, he passed the Bar Exam at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia. In 2016, he passed the exam for Private Enforcement Officer, whereas in 2017 he also passed the Bar Exam at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kosovo.
Judge Laban is married and has two children.
He is fluent in Albanian and English language, and understands Italian.
The mandate of Judge Laban at the Constitutional Court of Kosovo is nine years.
