Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani was the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo from June 2009 to June 2015. He is a Professor of International Law and International Relations at the University of Prishtina.

Prior to his appointment as Judge of the Constitutional Court in 2009, former President Hasani served as Rector of the University of Prishtina since 2006 when he was the Dean of Faculty of Law in this University. In 2004 when he established the Office of Foreign Relations of the Government of Kosovo, Former President Hasani served as its first Head until 2006.

In 2000, former President Hasani participated in preparing the project for the establishment of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Prishtina and served as its first Head until 2002. In this period he established and served as the first Director of the Human Rights Centre of the University of Prishtina, a project which was supported by the Finnish Human Rights Project and WUS-Austria.
From 1992 to 1997 Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani served as Legal Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania. As a Diplomat of Albania, in addition to many international conferences he participated in the Rambouillet Conference on Kosovo (1999) as part of the Kosovo delegation.

Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani has published numerous academic articles regarding different aspects of civil law, constitutional law, public international law and international relations in different local, regional and international journals, such as: “The Fletcher Forum of World Affairs”, “Perception”, “European Yearbook on Human Rights”, “Vienna Journal on International Constitutional Law”, “The Chicago-Kent Law Review”, “Euro Balkans”, “Miskolc Journal of International Law”.

Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani has published four books in the field of International Law and International Relations, two of which were published in English: « The Dissolution of Yugoslavia and the Case of Kosovo: Legal and Political Aspects, » published by the Albanian Institute for International Studies – AIIS, 1999, and « Self-Determination, Territorial Integrity and International Stability: the Case of Yugoslavia« , published by National Defense Academy and Bureau for Security Policy, Vienna, 2003.

He is the author of scores of articles in published books, and also the co-author of the book “Constitutional Justice in South East Europe” published by NOMOS, in January 2012. Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani is a co- author with Prof. Ivan Cukalovic, Deputy President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, of the first commentary in Albanian and Serbian of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.

Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani has lectured at different prestigious universities, such as: the Harvard School of Law, Pittsburgh School of Law, Georgetown University, George Washington University, Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and Anadolu University in Turkey, etc. Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani has also served as a Fulbright Scholar at the Northwestern University in Chicago. Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani has actively participated in many academic conferences.
Former President Hasani has been appointed a member of the Venice Commission representing the Republic of Kosovo, on 12 September 2014.

Former President Hasani completed his law studies at the University of Prishtina, where he completed his first master studies, receiving Master of Law degree in the Civil and Economic Law with high distinction. Former President Hasani earned his second master’s degree in International Law and Relations at the Bilkent University in Ankara (Turkey), where he also completed his PhD studies in the same field. Former President Hasani also holds the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the prestigious University Kocaeli in Turkey.

Former President, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani is married to Burbuqe and they have three children: Kastriot, Vatan and Dënesa.

He speaks fluent Serbian and English, and he has solid knowledge of French and Italian as well as passive understanding of Turkish.
