Selvete Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi is a Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo.
Judge Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi is a jurist by profession and a PhD candidate at the Institute of International Law and International Relations, at « Karl Franzens Universitat » in Austria.
Since 1999, she has worked in three fields: human rights, drafting and commenting laws, and gender equality. In all these professional positions, she has been sponsored by international organizations, such as: NRC, OSCE, UN WOMEN and UNDP.
During all this period of time, judge Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi has professionally assisted civil society organizations as well. Since 2003, she has chaired the Board of the « Center for Protection of Victims and Prevention of Trafficking ». In 2012, she has also supported the « Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims ».
Judge Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi teaches several law courses as well. Starting with the Helsinki Consulting Group, during 2005 – 2009, she has contributed as a lecturer/advisor to the establishment of the Social Pedagogy Department, at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Prishtina. She has also lectured at the Political Science Department, Tempus Programme, « Local Governance and Civil Society ».
During her career, judge Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi has been the author and co-author of several publications/researches/articles:
