On Saturday, 18 January 2014, Prof. Dr. Mark Tushnet, an internationally renowned professor of Law at Harvard Law School in the United States of America, shall deliver a lecture at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo.

Professor Tushnet will lecture on the topic: “Weak courts traded off with strong rights: An outlook on a proposal for transitional regimes of law which are based on powerful constitutional human rights regimes – the case of Kosovo”.

The lecture will take place in the Courtroom of the Constitutional Court and starts at 10:00 hrs.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
