The Court was visited by students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti”

A group of first-year students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti” visited the Constitutional Court.

The students were received by the Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Safet Hoxha.

In his presentation to the students, Judge Hoxha first gave a brief description of the history of the establishment of the Constitutional Court, the first composition of judges, combined with international judges, as well as the important role that this court has played in the development of constitutional justice and institutional democracy in the country.

Further, Judge Hoxha informed the future lawyers about the authorized parties under the Constitution to submit referrals, about the stages of proceedings and examination of cases, as well as about the inclusion of the case-law of the European Court for Human Rights in every decision of the Constitutional Court.

The students expressed their interest in being informed in more detail about the competencies of the Constitutional Court in the review of institutional referrals, about the process of electing constitutional judges and about the quota of gender representation during their election..
