President Caka – Nimani received in a meeting the Ombudsperson of Turkey

The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Gresa Caka – Nimani, received in a meeting the Ombudsperson of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Şeref Malkoç, accompanied by the Ambassador of Turkey to Kosovo, Mr. Çağrı Sakar.

After thanking him for the visit, President Caka – Nimani initially informed Mr. Malkoç about the work of the Court so far, the nature of the referrals submitted by individuals, the process of receiving referrals and reviewing cases in pandemic situation, as well as about the implementation of Court decisions by state authorities.

She further emphasized the important role that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has played in its decision-making over the years, especially in the protection of constitutionality in the country and the promotion of human rights, as well as the excellent cooperation relations with many counterpart courts in the region and beyond, including the Constitutional Court of Turkey.

For his part, after wishing success to Mrs. Caka – Nimani in her new position as President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Malkoç expressed the will for the exchange of mutual experiences and for close institutional cooperation in the field of protection of human rights.
