With the support of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), the judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, headed by President Arta Rama-Hajrizi and six judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, headed by President Prof. Dr. Fejzullah Hasani, travelled for an official visit to the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, on Monday, 19 October 2015.

During their stay in Karlsruhe city of Germany, where the seat of the Constitutional Court of this country is located, the judges of the Constitutional Court and Supreme Court of Kosovo, will hold joint meetings with their German counterparts also at the Federal Court of Justice of Germany.

The purpose of this visit is to enable the judges of the Constitutional Court and Supreme Court of Kosovo to be closely acquainted with the methods of work, deliberation, and the existing relation between the Federal Constitutional Court and Federal Court of Justice of Germany.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
