A high level delegation of the Venice Commission, headed by the President, Mr. Gianni Buquicchio, shall visit the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, on Friday, 16 October 2015.

President Buquicchio and the delegation from the Venice Commission will be received at a meeting by the President of the Constitutional Court, Arta Rama-Hajrizi.

The meeting will be held in the Office of the President of the Court and shall commence at 09:30.

During its stay in Kosovo, the delegation of the Venice Commission, headed by the President Buquicchio, will meet with the highest state leaders of the country and for the first time will participate in the ceremony of the Judicial Year of the Constitutional Court.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
