The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, received a delegation from the Czech Republic, headed by the Chief Prosecutor of this country, Mr. Pavel Zeman, on Wednesday, 14 May 2014.
President Hasani initially made a presentation on the composition and functioning of the Constitutional Court, while pointing out the challenges this institution has been faced with until now. He also informed the distinguished guests from Czech Republic about the mutual relations with other counterpart institutions in the region and beyond, thereby expressing gratitude to Czech Republic for the contribution given to the Constitutional Court and to strengthening of the rule of law in Kosovo.
Chief Prosecutor Zeman highly appreciated the professionalism of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and emphasized the necessity for an independent judiciary as a prerequisite for an efficient state of law. He also evaluated as very important the continuation of cooperation and mutual exchange of experiences between the courts and prosecutions of both countries.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Kosovo, Mr. Jiri Dolezel.
