The handover ceremony of the office of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo to be held

The solemn ceremony of handover of the office of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo will be held on Wednesday, 18 December 2024, at the “Emerald Hotel” in Pristina, starting at 18:00 hrs.

The ceremony is expected to be attended by senior representatives of state institutions, the judicial and prosecutorial system, representatives of diplomatic missions in the country, local and foreign organizations, academia and civil society.

The guests attending the ceremony will be greeted with an occasional address by Ms. Gresa Caka – Nimani, outgoing President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, and Mr. Nexhmi Rexhepi, elected President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
