A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, led by the President of the Court, Arta Rama-Hajrizi, has travelled to Tirana on a two-day official visit, on Wednesday, 24 February 2016.

During its stay in the capital of Albania, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo will hold meetings with the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, with the President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Xhezair Zaganjori, and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ylli Manjani.

The delegation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and President Rama-Hajrizi will be also received in a special meeting by the President of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bujar Nishani, on Friday, 26 February 2016.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
