A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, headed by the President of the Court, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, will be traveling today for an official visit to the Republic of Albania.

On the first day of the visit to Albania, President Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani and the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo will have a meeting with the President of the Assembly of Republic of Albania, Mrs. Jozefina Topalli.

On this occasion, the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania will be signing an agreement on bilateral cooperation.

The agreement will be signed on 18 April 2011 in the premises of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, in Tirana.

During the course of this visit, on 19 April 2011, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, in cooperation with the German Foundation “Hans Seidel” for International Legal Cooperation, will organize a workshop on “Incidental Control”.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
