The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo shall mark the Sixth Judicial Year by a solemn ceremony that will be organized at “Beethoven” Hall of “Emerald” Hotel in Prishtina, on Friday, 16 October 2015.

This solemnity that commences at 17:00 hrs will be attended for the first time by high level delegation of the Venice Commission, headed by its President Mr. Gianni Buquicchio.

The ceremony will also be attended by highest level delegations of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Turkey, Slovenia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Macedonia, and of the Supreme Court of Albania.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Arta Rama-Hajrizi, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga and the President of the Venice Commission, Mr. Gianni Buquicchio shall address with an occasional speech the participants to this ceremony.

The ceremony will conclude with a cocktail reception for the invited guests.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
