The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the USAID Effective Rule of Law Program (EROL), organizes  Judicial Conference on the topic: “The self-execution nature of the Kosovo Constitutional Court’s decisions“, which will be held on Wednesday, on 22 January 2014, in the hotel “Sirius” in Prishtina, starting at 09:00 hrs.

In this conference, among the other, will be treated the ability of regular courts to refer various constitutional issues in the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, as well as the issue of jurisdiction and existing challenges in mutual relations.

The moderator of the conference will be Mr. James B. Haines, Federal Judge from the District of Maine of the United States of America.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
