Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota in the United States of America, Prof. Dr. Fred Morrison, will deliver a lecture at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, on Tuesday, 5th of November 2013.

Professor Morrison will lecture on the topic: “Balancing Freedom of Expression against Privacy and Protection of Reputation”, with focus in one of the most controversial cases that defined freedom of press vis-à-vis US state institutions, more known as the case “New York Times vs. Sullivan (1964)”.

The lecture will be held in the Courtroom of the Constitutional Court starting from 10:00 hrs.

Representatives of all media are invited to attend this lecture.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
