Invited to attend the 15th International Congress on European and Comparative Constitutional Law, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo led by the President of the Court, Prof. dr. Enver Hasani, has travelled today to Regensburg in Germany for a working visit.

At this annual Congress in Regensburg, which every year gathers academics and judges of Europe’s constitutional courts, President Hasani will deliver a speech on the topic: “Constitutional law and financial crisis as well as recent developments in European Constitutionalism in the light of Constitutional Justice”, which is in fact the main topic of this meeting.

The visit of the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has been enabled by the German Foundation of International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), which together with the University of Regensburg is the organizer of this Congress which this year will be held on 31 May and 1 June 2013.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
