The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. dr. Enver Hasani, is visiting the United States of America, with a special invitation to be the 20th lecturer on the world at the Annual Conference “McLean Lecture on World Law”, organized by the University of Pittsburgh.

While attending the conference, on Wednesday 24 October 2012, President Hasani will deliver a public lecture on the topic: “The role and position of the Constitutional Courts in Society: The Case of Kosovo”

“McLean Lecture on World Law” is an elite conference in the international legal community which is organized every year at the University of Pittsburgh, where so far with their lectures have been presented academics and statesmen throughout the world.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
