The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, received yesterday a group of students from the University of Essex of Great Britain, led by the Director of Human Rights Center at this university, Prof. Dr. John Packer.

During the meeting, President Hasani first made a presentation on the organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo and afterwards answered to the questions of the visiting students.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
