A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, headed by its President, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, traveled yesterday for a study visit to Hungary. The delegation of the Constitutional Court shall stay in Hungary from 30 November to 5 December 2010.The purpose of the visit, which is supported by the GTZ Project for Legal Reforms, is the studying of activities and experiences of the Constitutional Court of Hungary that will benefit the Constitutional Court of Kosovo. In addition to numerous visits and meetings, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo shall also meet the President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
