On Monday, 3 December 2012, a public hearing will be held at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo on the Referrals KI 58/12, KI 66/12 and KI 94/12, which have the same subject matter of review: “Restrictions on citizens’ access to certain services of municipal administrations in Mitrovica, Gjilan and Viti”.

All applicants, representatives of the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica, Gjilan and Vitia, representatives of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, the Institution of Ombudsperson and the Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms have been invited to attend this hearing.

The public hearing will start at 10:00 hrs. The doors of the Courtroom will open at 09:40 hrs for reception of the interested citizens and the media.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
