In the administrative session held on Monday, 17 May 2021, the Judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, pursuant to Article 114, paragraph 5, of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, elected as the new President of the Constitutional Court, Judge Gresa Caka-Nimani.

Judge Caka-Nimani will commence exercising the duty of the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo on 26 June 2021, after the mandate of the current President of the Court, Mrs. Arta Rama-Hajrizi, will expire.

The mandate of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo is three years.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
