Workshop with the ECtHR Jurisconsult

Judges, Jurisconsult and constitutional-legal advisers of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo participated in a professional workshop with the Jurisconsult of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), Mrs. Anna Austin, organized with the support of the Council of Europe Office in Prishtina.

The competences, duties and function of the Jurisconsult department within the ECtHR, the procedure for monitoring the case-law of ECtHR, the preparation of research about the submitted cases and comparative research reports, were just some of the topics on which Mrs. Austin discussed the first session of the workshop.

The main topic of discussion in the second session was the development and updating of the ECtHR’s internal and external platforms for knowledge sharing, guides on the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) articles and key-themes, the “Hudoc” database of decisions and the publication of periodic reports.

The last session of the workshop, the main purpose of which was to acquire the best practices of the ECtHR regarding the organization and operation of the Jurisconsult department, was concluded with an exchange of questions and answers about the latest case-law of the ECtHR and the landmark cases published during the last year.
