The Constitutional Court was visited by a group of students from the Law Faculty of the Mediterranean University of Tirana, accompanied by the dean Prof. dr. Ksenofon Krisafi and from the Law Faculty of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, accompanied by Prof. dr. Arsim Bajrami.
The students were received in a meeting by the President of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Gresa Caka – Nimani, who during her discussion first gave a brief description of the history of the drafting of the Constitution and the establishment of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, the function that this court has in relation to other powers at the state level, and the important role it has played over the years in establishing and protecting the foundations of the constitutional order in the country.
President Caka-Nimani further informed the students about the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court, about the important cases that it has dealt with in relation to the balance of powers, as well as in the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, thereby referring in its every decision to the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights.
She advised future lawyers to dedicate themselves as much as possible to their university studies and to acquiring professional knowledge, not only with the aim of advancing in their careers, but also for the development and strengthening of justice institutions in both countries.
