Legal Unit is responsible for providing professional support to judges of the Court, during the review of cases.
This unit is managed by Chief Legal Advisor, who together with two of his deputies (appointed by the President of the Court) supervise the work of senior and junior legal advisors.
The work of Legal Advisors consists of drafting the draft decisions, reports, dissenting and concurring opinions as well as other legal materials produced by the Court.
Legal Advisors are appointed by majority vote of the judges present and voting. A Legal Advisor may be dismissed or suspended by a decision of a majority of the judges present and voting.
