Students of “Ethics Club” of the Faculty of Law of the University “Hasan Prishtina” visited the Court

Students of “Ethics Club” of the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” stayed for a visit at the Constitutional Court.

They were received in a meeting by Judge Selvete Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi, who informed the students briefly on the role and function of the Constitutional Court, on its international composition in the first years of functioning, as well as on the jurisdiction it has in treating various constitutional matters raised before it.

The authorized parties to file constitutional complaints, the right of the regular judiciary to refer requests through the incidental control mechanism and the Court’s decision making based on the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights were also topics of Judge Gërxhaliu-Krasniqi’s presentation.

The future lawyers meanwhile expressed their interest to be informed in more detail about the selection process and the mandate of the constitutional judges, as well as on the difficulties that the judges face in their work during the review of cases.
