The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Arta Rama-Hajrizi, received in an introductory meeting the new Head of the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Mrs. Alexandra Papadopoulou, on Thursday, 29 September 2016.
After wishing her success in her new duty, President Rama-Hajrizi initially informed Mrs. Papadopoulou about the composition of the Constitutional Court, the work it has done so far, and the continuous efforts towards building the professional capacity of the Constitutional Court, thereupon also thanking the international donors for their support.
During the conversation, President Rama-Hajrizi considered the role of, and contribution given so far by, the EULEX Mission in the rule of law and the fight against organized crime in Kosovo as highly important.
Both parties emphasized the imperative of preserving the independence of the judicial and prosecutorial system in the country, towards furthering the progress in strengthening the legality.
Mrs. Papadopoulou expressed the willingness of the mission she represents to support the independence and strengthening of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.
