At the invitation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, led by the President, Mrs. Arta Rama-Hajrizi, has traveled to Ankara, on Sunday, 24 April, 2016.

President Rama-Hajrizi and the delegation of the Constitutional Court have been invited to participate in the international symposium on the topic: “The execution of judgments concerning constitutional complaints and their effects”, which will be held in the Turkish capital on 25 and 26 April 2015.

The symposium is organized on the occasion of the celebration of the 54th anniversary of the establishment of the Constitutional Court of Turkey.

During her stay in Ankara, president Rama-Hajrizi will meet with the President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, Mr. Zühtü Arslan, and together they will sign a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the institutions they lead.

The memorandum of cooperation includes a range of activities in the field of mutual legal research, professional training and mutual exchange of experiences between the two constitutional courts.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
