The President of the Constitutional Court, Arta Rama-Hajrizi, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy to our country, Mr. Andreas Ferrarese, on Monday, 26 October 2015.
President Rama-Hajrizi, initially informed Ambassador Ferrarese on the issues of organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court, underlining the consideration shown by this institution for the preservation of independence through the strict application of the constitutional provisions in the decision making.
She considered as crucial the importance of communication with the fellow courts of countries with longstanding constitutional judiciary, in view of further progress and comprehensive reforms in the justice system.
In the meeting were also discussed the possibilities of cooperation and further exchange of the experience on the functioning of the judicial systems in both countries, focusing on the role of the Constitutional Court as the main body for interpretation of the Constitution.
Ambassador Ferrarese considered as important the achievements of the Constitutional Court and expressed the commitment of Italy to deepen cooperation with all institutions of Kosovo in the fields of mutual interest.
