The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Arta Rama-Hajrizi received the new US Ambassador to Kosovo, Mr. Greg Delawie, on Wednesday, 14 October 2015.
After wishing him success in the new duty, President Rama-Hajrizi informed Ambassador Delawie about the function and the role of the Constitutional Court in the country, as well as about the decision-making process and the review of cases in accordance with the European standards of justice.
During the meeting, President Rama-Hajrizi discussed also about the challenges that the Constitutional Court is facing in its work, on which occasion she emphasized the importance of renewing the current composition of judges with selection of two new judges, which will reflect positively on the continuity of work and further consolidation of the independence of this institution.
President Rama-Hajrizi expressed special gratitude to the US and other donors from the friendly countries that offered their assistance to the establishment and professional advancement of the Constitutional Court, thus contributing directly to the protection of constitutionality and the rule of law in the country.
The new US Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Greg Delawie promised further support to the Constitutional Court in its work and emphasized the importance of maintaining an independent decision-making process of this institution.
