On Tuesday, 16 June 2015, at “Beethoven” Hall of “Emerald” Hotel in Prishtina was held the farewell ceremony, organized on the occasion of the end of mandate of the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani.

The ceremony was attended by ministers and senior state officials, the US Ambassador, Tracey Ann – Jacobson, and other ambassadors accredited in Kosovo, representatives of international organizations as well as delegations of the highest level of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of Albania, the Constitutional Court of Turkey, the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria, the Constitutional Court of Poland, the Constitutional Court of Montenegro and the Constitutional Court of Macedonia.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, the President of the Supreme Court of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Fejzullah Hasani, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, the President of the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Tokushev, and the President of the Constitutional Court of Macedonia, Ms. Elena Gosheva, addressed with occasional speeches the participants at the ceremony.

In a speech read on behalf of the President of the Constitutional Court of Austria, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Holzinger, the Ambassador of Austria in Kosovo, Dr. Johann Brieger addressed the participants in the ceremony, and among other things said: ”In his capacity as President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Professor Hasani made outstanding contributions to the effective implementation of the Constitution adopted in 2008. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo performed its task in a truly remarkable way. A substantial part of the success achieved is due to Professor Hasani as President of this Court.

In his occasional speech, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, said that “the name of Professor Hasani is associated with the Constitutional Court, as he had the chance to be the first president, to lay the grounds and foundations of the constitutional justice in the new state of Kosovo, by increasing at the same time the standards and level in the constitutional adjudication.

His counterpart from the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Tokushev, in his speech dedicated to President Hasani, said among the other: “Under your guidance, the Constitutional Court was established as an independent authority to protect fundamental constitutional rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. Due to your efforts the Constitutional Court itself has turned into a respectable national constitutional jurisdiction in society and has been internationally recognized.”

In the same spirit spoke also the President of the Supreme Court of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Fejzullah Hasani, the  President of the Constitutional Court of Macedonia, Ms. Elena Gosheva, and the President of the Supreme Court of Albania, Prof. Dr. Xhezair Zaganjori, in whose absence his speech was read by the judge of this Court, Mr. Admir Thanza.

At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, addressed the guests with an occasional speech and dedicated special thanks to all friendly countries and international donors, as well as to all local and international judges, and all other staff members of the Constitutional Court for their work and support.

At the end of his speech, President Hasani expressed his wish for the judges and staff of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo to “proceed further with the successful accomplishment of the holy mission of the guardian of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo“.
