On Tuesday, 3rd of February 2015, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, received for a meeting a delegation from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Albania headed by Minister Nasip Naço.

During the meeting President Hasani informed Minister Naço and the Albanian delegation about the composition and the work done so far by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, pointing out some of the most important decisions of this institution.

President Hasani stressed the excellent cooperation with the Constitutional Court of Albania and evaluated the exchange of mutual experiences between the two countries in the field of justice as highly important.

Minister Naço, after underlining the importance of honoring court decisions of all instances as a precondition to strengthening the state of law in every country, made a brief presentation about the reforms that are being undertaken in Albania’s judicial system.  

Minister Naço highly evaluated the achievements of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo in the professional aspect and the contribution given for the development of Kosovo’s constitutional judiciary and also expressed the need for exchange of ideas for further strengthening of the independent judiciary in both countries.  

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
