On Wednesday, 19 February 2014, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Prof. Dr. Enver Hasani, delivered a lecture before the students and professors of the University “SMU Dedman School of Law”, seated in Dallas of the Federal State of Texas (US), on the topic: “The Role and Position of the Constitutional Courts in the South East Europe with Special Reference to Kosovo”.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
