The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), is organizing a workshop on the topic: “Review of the Decisions of the Supreme Court”, on Wednesday 12 June 2013.

The workshop aims to exchange experiences among the judges of the Constitutional Court and judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in the review of the decisions of the regular judiciary, of the constitutional complaints as well as application of the European standards on human rights.

Moderators and speakers of this seminar will be the Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Almiro Rodrigues, as well as the well-known professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hamburg in Germany, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Karpen.

The workshop will begin at 09:00 hrs, and will be held at Hotel “Sirius” in Prishtina.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
