The United States Ambassador in Kosovo, Ms. Tracey Ann Jacobson, today visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, and was received for an introductory meeting by the President of the Constitutional Court, Prof. dr. Enver Hasani, and other judges.

After wishing her success in the new office, President Hasani initially briefed the Ambassador Jacobson with the Constitutional Court’s current composition, following a brief elaboration about the most important decisions that the Court approved so far.

During the conversation, President Hasani informed Ambassador Jacobson for the contacts and the current excellent cooperation with peer institutions in many countries of the world.

Ambassador Jacobson praised President Hasani for the good work done so far in the Constitutional Court and confirmed further support of the country she represents for  strengthening the rule of law and order in Kosovo.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
