The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the USAID’s Effective Rule of Law Program, shall organize a two-day conference at Swiss Diamond Hotel in Prishtina, on 29 and 30 June 2012.

Respect of human rights in Kosovo, as well as the implementation of the decisions of the European Court on Human Rights and of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo in practice shall be discussion topics of the conference.

Judges of the District Court of Minnesota, Michael Davis and John R. Tunheim, shall be among the invited guests to this conference. They shall share their experience in the implementation of the law on the protection of human rights in the USA.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
