A delegation of senior German officials, headed by Mr. Dirk Niebel, Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany, will visit the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo on Wednesday, 4 May 2011.

The meeting at the Constitutional Court will be held at 10:30 hrs, whereby the German delegation will be informed of the work of the Constitutional Court up to now and mutual cooperation shall be also discussed.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
