On 1 April 2011, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo reviewed and voted on the requests made by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and Mr. Behgjet Pacolli on behalf of the Presidency, for clarification of the Court Judgment of 30 March 2011, with regard to Case KO 29/11 “Sabri Hamiti and other Deputies”, “Constitutional Review of the Decision of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, No. 04-V-04, concerning the election of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, dated 22 February 2011.”

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
