In a ceremonial transfer of keys from Arsim Bajrami, Minister of Public Administration to Enver Hasani, President of the Constitution Court, marked the opening of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo’s headquarters. For the past six months, the Ministry of Public Administration worked around the clock to renovate the former building of the Kosovo Protection Corps in Qyteza Pejton. On July 8, 2009 Minister Bajrami officially handed the keys to the renovated building to Enver Hasani.
The complete renovation of the building included large Greek pillars to the Court’s entry. Standing between the pillars Minister Bajrami noted,” Our objective was to physically demonstrate the prominence of the institution this structure will house.” He added, “I believe my Ministry has been very successful not only meeting the operational needs of the court but also the aesthetic appeal.”
The building will house the judges chambers, Permanent Secretariat of the court and their respective staff. “Minister Bajrami and his ministry have done an excellent job in providing us with first-rate facilities,” noted Enver Hasani, President of Constitutional Court. “On behalf of the Constitutional Court and my colleagues, I thank Minister Bajrami and his ministry for their professionalism.”
In September 2009 the Constitutional Court will begin reviewing more than twenty already submitted cases.
