Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bekim Sejdiu, today submitted his resignation letter from the position of judge, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Law on the Constitutional Court and the Rules of Procedure of the Court.

Judge Sejdiu has offered his resignation in order to continue his career at the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, in accordance with the criteria set by this university regarding the academic advancement of the teaching staff.

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo expresses its gratitude for the work that Judge Sejdiu has done so far in advancing the constitutional judiciary of Kosovo and wishes him further success in his professional career.

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo was established in January 2009.

With its authority to review legislation and individual complaints of rights violations, the Court is the ultimate check on legislative and executive power in Kosovo and the final arbiter of the meaning of constitutional provisions enshrining human rights and freedoms.
